Your Questions About Crochet Patterns For Baby Blankets

Sharon asks…
Where can I find a good baby blanket crochet pattern?
Hello All,
I need to find a baby blanket pattern that is for crocheting that’s for beginners. I need it to be printable, no downloads, and no buying cause at the moment I have NO money! Please answer quickly for I want to make it for a baby that’s already been born but was born not too long ago. It’s a girl. SO…I need as much help as I possibly can get. I’ve been searching for about 2 months and still found nothing. I need help. HELP!!!!

This is a pattern I’ve been using. It is very simple. I do it while walking on the tread mill at my gym. I’ve made several of these, and actually sold a couple online. It uses bulky weight yarn and a 6.5 hook. I use Redheart Baby Clouds.
Chain 88.
Row 1 Double crochet, chain1, double crochet all in 5th chain from hook {skip 2 chain, work vstitch in next ch} across to last 2 chain, skip 1 chain, double crochet in last chain.
Row 2 Chain 3, turn. Work vstitch in each chain 1 space across, end double crochet in top of turning chain.
Repeat row 2 until blanket is as long as you want.
A vstitch is worked double crochet, chain 1, double crochet all in one stitch.

is the actual pattern from Micheal’s website. if that helps to figure this out

admin answers:
Substitute the word *skip* for the word *miss* and see if that helps you out. It is rather oddly writtten. Basically you are making what appears to be open spaces in the row after the first stitch. So, it’s made a dc in the 4th ch from the hook, ch 1, skip 1 (the next st in the chain, first space made), then dc, ch 1, skip 1,two times, then make a *group* of stitches in the ch by making 1 dc, ch 1 in that stitch 4 times (8 stitches total from that one chain), skip 1.
Now it also looks like the pattern is missing an asterisk to delineate the end of the first repeat sequence before the double asterisk sequence starts, but I suspect it should be after the increase popcorn, or shell (can’t tell what it should be from that picture) after the miss next ch. But without sitting down and working the numbers out, I can’t tell just from reading it. I’d be inclined to e-mail Michael’s and ask them if there is an errata sheet for this with a correction.

Does anyone have an easy and cute baby afghan crochet pattern?
I am looking for a unique but easy pattern for a baby blanket for my step daughter. She is expecting soon and I want to crochet her a blanket. She is not into pink girly stuff. I need something quick and easy to make as I have little extra time to work on it.

Looking for circular crochet baby blanket pattern?

admin answers:
There don’t seem to be any free patterns, the only one I found is from the mary maxim website and it’s not exactly round. It’s a round-star shape with about 12 points. It’s really pretty, take a look: http://www.marymaxim.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10054_16632_-1_15046_15047
Here are a couple others on that site, again not exactly round, but close…
